FAQ

How can I tell my child if he or she needs more discipline?

Different developmental stages may require different amounts or discipline.

If your child is under two years of age, spanking can be beneficial.

However, if your child is older, he/she may need more structure and guidance.

You should always discuss changes in your child's behavior with your doctor before making any major changes in your parenting style.

Is gentle parenting good?

It all depends on what you mean when you say "good." If you're talking about how children are treated, then I would say yes. However, if asked whether they are happy with the treatment, I would have to say no. They need discipline and firmness at times. Otherwise, they'll never learn how to behave properly.

Children need rules and limits. Without these, they will never know what's acceptable behavior and what's not. They will not know how to respect others, and follow their instructions.

If you ask me which parenting style is better, I'd say none. All three styles work equally well. The important thing is to choose the one that best suits you and your family.

What should first time mothers know?

First-time moms should be aware of how much they are still learning. They must also realize that they are not the only ones on this journey.

There have been many other women who have gone before you. And they've learned from those experiences.

These women will provide support and encouragement.

As they enter motherhood, they will feel less isolated.
